Tim Solinger is a consultant, writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in career services, marketing and publishing. He owns and operates Full Sail Writing & Editing Services, LLC, a career strategy and content services consultancy located in Thiensville, Wis. He launched the business in 2005.
As a provider of career services, Tim assists clients with needs that include resumes, LinkedIn profiles and interview coaching to enable them to better define and articulate their unique value to employers. In working with clients, he uses proven strategies and techniques that have helped many clients secure interviews and job offers. He is especially experienced at helping individuals with opportunities that include career changes and “encore” or second careers at retirement, as well as with overcoming challenges such as layoffs, terminations, debilitative health conditions, and work histories with employment gaps and other difficult aspects.
Tim is a Certified Professional Resume Writer with the Professional Association of Resume Writers & Career Coaches and is an approved career services provider with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. He has created and presented seminars, workshops and instructional programs on resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile development, and interviewing at several Wisconsin technical college campuses. He has also served as a guest resume reviewer at job fairs and other career events.
In addition to his background in career services, Tim has worked as a marketing communications consultant, writer and editor, providing brand strategy, marketing and publicity services to clients in the education, manufacturing, software, transportation, logistics and publishing industries. He has also worked as a book editor, assisting authors with creating nonfiction books ranging from inspirational works on leadership, management and professional development to those on historical and scholarly subjects.
A holder of a bachelor’s degree in English and a secondary teaching certificate from the University of Iowa, Tim previously taught language arts courses at Mount Vernon Community High School in Mount Vernon, Iowa, as well as a course in writing for the workplace through the continuing education division at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley in Menasha, Wis. He is also a recipient of a Gold Award in the Hermes Creative Awards competition from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
Tim believes that the emerging post-pandemic world is going to place a greater emphasis than ever on soft skills as people come together to forge solutions to problems. He also believes that individuals who have the ability to collaborate, build consensus and lift up others, even in the face of the most difficult obstacles, can contribute substantially to these efforts.
